Union Minister of India Amit Shah will meet with Karnataka party leaders this Sunday. They may discuss the 2024 Lok Sabha elections strategy. As revealed by the President of the state unit of the BJP, B Y Vijayendra. The two-part meeting took place around three months before the 2024 LS elections are set to begin.
According to Vijayendra, the meeting’s likely topic would be how to go about going to polls with coalition partner Janata Dal (Secular) (JD(S)), making sure that local officials and employees of both parties coordinate effectively. Deliberations may also be held over seat sharing with the local party.
Shah arrived in the “palace city” of Mysuru in the early hours of Sunday and would attend meetings later in the day with members of the state BJP core committee and the party’s Mysuru cluster leaders. Additionally, he will partake in the festivities of the Suttur Jatra Mahotsav program held near the region.
During important discussions with Karnataka BJP officials on Sunday, Shah gave the state unit the goal of guaranteeing a ten percent rise in the party’s vote share in the next Lok Sabha elections.
There would be 120 leaders present from the Lok Sabha seats of Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar. Additionally, there is a meeting scheduled with the state BJP core committee, during which the plan for the next Lok Sabha elections will be discussed, according to Vijayendra.
Speaking to reporters, Vijayendra stated that the BJP and JD(S) would be running for office jointly. It is imperative to ensure there are no problems among their ground staff. “We will strategize to win each constituency and seek the guidance of Amit Shah, who is known as election Chanakya,” he said.
The state BJP chairman stated that the BJP and JD(S) want to win every seat in the state and that there is nothing unique about the party's first assembly of this kind before the Lok Sabha elections, which are scheduled to take place in Mysuru, the home district of chairman Minister Siddaramaiah.
When asked about the inaugural BJP gathering before the Lok Sabha elections in Mysuru, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's home district, the state BJP leader remarked that there's no particular significance to it. He emphasized that both the BJP and JD(S) are actively strategizing to secure victory across all constituencies in the state. He stated, “Other than being Chief Minister's home district, it (Mysuru) is the stronghold of BJP, as people have been supporting the party in the Lok Sabha polls... in Chamarajanagara constituency, we will have to find a new candidate with senior leader Srinivas Prasad (sitting MP) announcing political retirement and strategise to win the seat."
Mysuru, a stronghold for the BJP, is set to face a new challenge in the Chamarajanagara constituency due to senior leader Srinivas Prasad's retirement. In preparation for the next general elections in Karnataka, the BJP and JD(S) have decided to ally. The two parties are participating in seat-sharing parleys.
