Dylan Mulvaney, a well-known American influencer, has faced months of backlash after sharing her journey as a trans woman on TikTok. Recently, she has become the target of conservative media and individuals for promoting Bud Light, leading to continuous cyber bullying.

Context

Mulvaney first gained attention in March 2022 with her video "Days of Girlhood" on TikTok. A few months later, she was featured on a podcast for the brand Ulta Beauty, where she discussed her transition as a Christian. However, this led to dozens of comments calling for a boycott of Ulta.

The situation escalated when Mulvaney interviewed President Biden about legislation preventing trans youth from affirming their gender, leading to an intense hate campaign against her. More recently, her endorsements of Nike and Bud Light have sparked a new wave of harassment from conservative media and social media users.

No Support from the Conservative Trans Community

Despite being a member of the trans community, Mulvaney has received no support from other conservative trans individuals, such as Caitlyn Jenner and Blaire White. In a recent podcast, White even accused Mulvaney of not actually being trans and merely acting for attention.

“She is an actress, I don’t believe she is trans,” affirmed Blaire White in the accusatory podcast published last week.

Caitlyn Jenner, the former partner of Kris Jenner, went beyond and affirmed that Mulvaney was an absurdity. “Let’s not normalize any of what this person is doing, this is absurdity,” she said on her Twitter account.

What is She So Hated?

Although she has always responded with kindness and tolerance to the attacks she was facing, not a single day has gone by without controversy surrounding her. Prominent figures like Matt Walsh, Joe Rogan, and Megyn Kelly also joined in on such attacks. “I’m not transphobic, I’m realistic,” claimed Youtuber Brett Kooper while reacting to a TikTok published by Mulvaney.

Dylan Mulvaney's controversial stance on gender has made her a target of intense hatred as she continues to challenge societal norms and bring attention to the gendered aspects of women's lives. Her behavior has been described by some as awkward, lost, or even denying biology, making her uncomfortable for many to watch.

Mulvaney seems to shed light on how ingrained gender roles are in our society. She seems to push the boundaries and challenge traditional notions of gender. This might explain why she became such a polarizing figure. Some see her as a threat to their beliefs, others as a hero.
