Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with Egypt's highest distinction, the Order of the Nile, during his visit to Egypt. Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi bestowed the prestigious award upon Modi, recognizing his valuable contributions.

Additionally, the two leaders signed a declaration, establishing a strategic partnership between their nations. This elevation signifies an intensified cooperation and regular dialogues between Egypt and India.

The deep-rooted relationship between the two countries dates back to the 1950s, when they played pivotal roles in the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement. Modi's visit marks the first by an Indian prime minister in over two decades, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
