Glastonbury Festival 2024: Everything You Need to Know

Who Will Be Headlining This Year?

Glastonbury Festival, one of the world’s most iconic music events, is back with an exciting lineup for its 2024 edition. Headlining this year will be two female artists, Madonna and Dua Lipa, the Guardian has reported.

This thrilling announcement marks a historic moment for Glastonbury, as it is the first time in the festival’s history that two women will lead the event. This comes after fans expressed their disappointment, that the 2023 lineup was comprised of only men. This was only after an unnamed female act withdrew from the event, leaving Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John to headline the festival.

In response to this, Emily Eavis, one of the festival's organisers and daughter of Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis, told Sky News that she is committed to achieving gender balance in the festival’s lineup. She emphasised the importance of including female artists as headliners and promoting diversity in the world of music.

It has been reported that Coldplay, who has previously headlined four times, will also be joining the stage alongside Dua Lipa. However, no acts have yet been officially confirmed.

Ticket Sales Update

In a recent update, Glastonbury Festival decided to postpone the ticket sales for the 2024 event by two weeks. This was due to an unfortunate mix-up with the registration, as it was discovered that some fans were unable to properly register.

To ensure that everyone gets an equal chance to purchase their ticket, general admission tickets go on sale at 9am GMT on Sunday, November 19th. Meanwhile, ticket packages that include coach travel will become available at 6pm GMT on Thursday, November 16th.

How Do I Buy Tickets?

Tickets can be purchased from glastonbury.seetickets.com. Remember, you must register first at https://glastonburyregistration.co.uk which is open from tomorrow. If you aren’t able to buy your ticket on time, don’t worry you may still be in with a chance. An official resale usually takes place in April.

Ticket prices have increased to £355, with an additional booking fee of £5. Tickets for the 2022 Glastonbury Festival were even cheaper at £280. Let’s hope that the 2024 festival-goers will get their money’s worth.
