The nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards have been revealed, with Succession (27), The Last of Us (24), The White Lotus (23), and Ted Lasso (21) landing the most nominations.

Actors earning most nominations included Pedro Pascal for The Last of Us, Jeremy Strong for Succession, Quinta Brunson for Abbott Elementary, and Jenny Ortega for Wednesday.

Emmy-nominated actress Yvette Nicole Brown and TV Academy chair Frank Scherma announced who will be competing for some of television’s highest honours during a virtual ceremony on July 12, 2023

The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards will honour the best in American prime time television programming from June 1, 2022 until May 31, 2023 as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The ceremony is scheduled for September 18, 2023 and will be broadcasted in the United States on Fox. The Creative Arts Emmys is planned to be held on September 9^th and 10^th.

Overall, HBO/Max earned 127 nominations total at the 2023 Emmys. Meanwhile, Netflix came in second place with 103 nods, Apple TV+ third with 46, while Hulu and Prime Video both tied in fourth with 42 each. Disney+ then landed in fifth place with 40 nominations. These awards are divided into the main Emmys ceremony and the Creative Arts Emmys, which covers the more technical and niche categories.

A host for the Fox ceremony has not yet been revealed, but Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay are set to produce the telecast. It’s possible that the awards presentations could get delayed if there isn’t a resolution to the ongoing writers’ strike.

The award ceremony taking place on its scheduled date is now in question due to the commencement of actors strike which started on 14^th of July 2023, as SAG-AFTRA continues contract negotiations with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.

Whenever it takes place, the 75^th Primetime Emmy Awards promises to be a hit and one to remember forever. Some of the major categories for grabs are: Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Limited Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and many more.
