The best music albums of 2022: Andrea shares her five preferences

2022 is coming to an end, and it is the perfect time to review everything that has been experienced in these (almost) last 365 days. Many national and international singers have delighted us with endless releases that have caused talk on the charts worldwide. I have not wanted to miss a single premiere, which is why this document comments on the selection of the best albums that 2022 has left me. All of them were chosen from my most personal point of view, so perhaps some of yours match my taste. Here we go!

Motomami – Rosalia

How to ignore Rosalía's new album? Without a doubt, Motomami has become an international phenomenon. I have not been able to ignore it and chose it as my favorite album of 2022. Not simply for its originality but also for the quality of its production and for revolutionizing the world of music once again, opening new horizons. In addition, I believe that Rosalía has revolutionized the music world with songs like 'Despechá.'

But the motomami is not the only protagonist for me. Bad Bunny won second place in the ranking with his album Un Verano Sin Ti (A summer without you). He has taken reggaeton one step further, mixing it with many more musical genres. It has been one of the most anticipated albums. Likewise, the release came just before the summer, and he warmed us up with his great songs, such as 'Titi me preguntó.'

There's still more! Beyoncé's musical comeback has also been one of my favorites. Third place goes to Renaissance Vol 1. The American singer-songwriter has given us an album in which she mixes and bets between R&B and electronic sounds such as 80s disco, house, and funk... focused on extolling the most underground Afro-American culture. Furthermore, I think this new album conveys a great message of empowerment for humanity and for the female universe, which I love!

SZA, The sensation of Contemporary Soul

On the other hand, the big surprise was SZA, who surprised his fans with the release of his SOS album. The singer has returned five years after his musical album called CTRL. SOS contains 23 songs, where pop and R&B are mixed in a common thread full of psychedelic sounds. Tracks like O Love Language O Kill Bill will appear on my 2023 Wrapped.

Taylor Swift is unconditional for me

Finally, the last position goes to Midnights. Taylor Swift has proven to be in one of the sweetest moments of her professional life. In addition, after the release of her tenth music album, the singer has managed to break all kinds of records. With Midnights we travel with Taylor through 13 insomnia nights scattered through her life, where we enter the darkness of the night to face not only her fears but also where the opportunity for love arises. For example, Midnight Rain or Anti-Hero are some of the songs that stand out the most, although I think that each of the thirteen songs is a great song.

And you, do you agree with any of these musical tastes with me?
