Man United board slammed by Erik Ten Hag

Erik Ten Hag is desperate to add more firepower to his team, as Manchester United are still involved in the fight for a top four finish and three cup competitions.

Erik Ten Hag mentioned that “the club has bought an unimaginable number of players in the recent years who have not been good enough.”

Erik Ten Hag spoke about the signings that were made, claiming that “most signings [in the past] have been average, and at Manchester United, average is not good enough. United's shirt weighs heavily, only real personalities who can perform under great pressure can play here. The players know that being ninety-nine percent at Manchester United is not enough.”

Erik Ten Hag further went on to speak about the conditions of the squad.

“There was no spirit [at Manchester United last season]. I saw no team dynamic in the squad,” Ten Hag mentioned. “The mental resilience was very low. I saw no team dynamic in the squad. I saw that as an outsider – and also noticed it in my first weeks at the club. I look at the culture of the club, the past of the club. I asked how Manchester United became great, and what it takes to become Manchester United Manager.”

Cristiano Ronaldo stated during a meeting with Ralf Rangnick that Harry Maguire should be placed on the bench. Although Rangnick felt the conversation was inappropriate without Maguire present, Ronaldo said he believed Maguire was part of the problem.

Ralf Rangnick had called on Ronaldo to mentor the players within the squad, which is understood to have led to further friction with Maguire.

It’s not a surprise to anyone that Ronaldo appeared miffed at the fact Harry Maguire kept the captain’s armband, despite losing his place in the team to the newly-signed Lisandro Martinez.

Manchester United are advancing on the loan of Wout Weghorst. The Besiktas player is one of Manchester United’s priorities, and negotiations revolving around a paying loan are advancing internally.

Sercan Dikme expressed that “after the match ended, I spoke with the club and the players' side. There is a possibility that Wout Weghorst will leave. Manchester United has held a meeting with Burnley. Besiktas needs to give approval for the player to leave.”

Wout Weghorst would be quite a complicated deal, with Besiktas expecting the thirty year old to finish the season with them. They also have a ten million Euro option to buy Manchester United have almost completed a loan deal for Wout Weghorst. Erik Ten Hag wants a player capable of demanding in the air, which he does not have in an attack.

According to Laurie Whitwell, Erik Ten Hag is believed to be a fan of Wout Weghorst, with the strikers particularly appealing to him.

Memphis Depay wants to leave Barcelona and return to Manchester United. Barcelona are looking to recoup the money for Memphis Depay. However, Manchester United are looking for a loan and have yet to make a proposal for Memphis.

According to Rob Dawson, ESPN, and Mark Ogden, Manchester United are only looking at low cost deals, including Memphis Depay, Alvero Marata, and Joao Felix.
